D3 Digital

D3 Digital is now Cyber Essentials certified

We're pleased to announce that D3 Digital is now Cyber Essentials certified. What this milestone means for our business, our clients and our commitment to cyber security.

We're pleased to share that D3 Digital is now Cyber Essentials certified. This is an important milestone for our studio and a clear demonstration that we take the security of our business seriously. When clients choose a digital partner, they should be able to look beyond the work on its website and understand how that partner approaches security.

Cyber Essentials is a UK Government-backed certification scheme developed by the National Cyber Security Centre. It gives organisations of all sizes a practical baseline for protecting themselves against common internet-based threats. Its value is not simply a certificate to display on a website. The real benefit is checking that essential protections are actually in place across the systems included in your assessment.

The scheme focuses on five technical controls: firewalls, secure configuration, security update management, user access control and malware protection. In everyday terms, that means controlling connections to your systems, removing insecure defaults and unnecessary features, keeping software supported and updated, limiting access to people who need it, and protecting devices against malicious software. These are practical measures that address common ways attackers gain access.

For our clients, this gives an additional point of confidence when choosing D3 Digital for web development, applications and digital support. Our certification shows that the systems within its scope have been assessed against the scheme's security baseline. It also provides evidence for clients whose supplier checks require Cyber Essentials. You can view our public certificate using the link below and check its scope and validity directly.

Our certification is Cyber Essentials, which uses an independently verified self-assessment. It is distinct from Cyber Essentials Plus, which adds independent technical testing. We want to be clear about what we have achieved, without overstating what certification promises.

Certification is a baseline, not a complete security strategy. It does not replace staff awareness, tested backups, an incident-response plan or careful management of suppliers. Nor does it automatically establish compliance with data-protection law or prove that every part of a website or application has been security-tested. Security needs ongoing attention as people, devices and services change.

Why does this matter now? Businesses rely on connected services, shared information and remote access every day. A compromised account or an unpatched device can interrupt work and damage trust, regardless of the size of the organisation. Getting the fundamentals right matters just as much for a creative development studio as it does for a larger enterprise.

For D3 Digital, achieving Cyber Essentials is a step forward, not the end of the job. Security belongs alongside design, accessibility and performance in how we think about digital work. We're proud to share this milestone with our clients and partners, and committed to keeping security part of the ongoing conversation.
